Daily Question And Scriptural Answer

Who does the bible say Melchizedek is? Let's see where Melchizedek was first mentioned in the bible. Genesis 14:18 18 And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God.

So we see from the above verse that Mechizedek was the priest of the most high God. Let's see where else he was mentioned.

Melchizedek came upon the scene to Abram Genesis 14:19 19 And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth:
20 And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all.

What did Abram give to the King of Salem who is Melchizedek? Abram gave him a tenth part of all tithes. "gave him tithes of all." Genesis 14.

Now let's go back to verse 18 18 And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God.

The King of Salem means the King of peace. Hebrews 7:1-2 For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him;To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace;

Melchizedek is also mentioned in Psalm 110:4 The Lord hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek. David was speaking in a prophetic language here about Jesus.

Melchizedek had no beginning or end. Let's read. Hebrews 7:3 3 Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually.

Therefore Melchizedek always existed.  Melchizedek was not God, as we are told, he was "the priest of that most high God." Abram knew of him and saw him so he was not a mystery to Abram.

 Mechizedek was like unto the Son of God in the ancient of days. God is not a priest but Jesus is. Hebrews 5:5,6 5 So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee.
As he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

Hebrews 5:9,10 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;10 Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec.

Jesus and Melchizedek were both priest of the most high God. They were both King's of peace , and King's of Righteousness. They were both the Son of God. They are both eternal.

The mystery is.... are they one in the same?
