A Study Inspired By The Holy Spirit

Peace,

May those who have ears to hear receive the message the Holy Spirit is revealing. I was showing this to a Sister today and I was then led to a study and to post it on here.

Let's look at 1 Corinthians 5:4-13 In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.
Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators:
10 Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world.11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolator, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.
12 For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within?13 But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.

Let's break this down verse by verse as I am being led by the Holy Spirit. Verse (4) The church is gathered together and the power of  Yahushua/Jesus is among them. Paul is speaking to the church of Corinth about their sin. There is a particular member of the church who is sinning.

Paul states in verse (5) "deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh" This man was fornicating and was not heeding the laws of God. By turning him over to Satan meant that he would be separated from God and he would fall deeply into his sin. We cannot serve God and Satan. When one goes so low in their life that they see no way out they either turn back to God or they perish in their sin. The rest of verse (5) "that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus" We pray for the lost in their sins that they will seek God so they may have eternal life. When one does not repent they are serving Satan.

Let's read verse (6) Paul tells the church, "your glory is not good"  They had not repented for their sins. Their sins are destroying their relationship with God. They must turn from their sin and come back to God. Verse (7) Paul is telling them "for even Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us" We have in Jesus, and only Jesus a sacrifice for our sins. He is our Passover lamb. Amen!?!? BUT only if we repent and believe that Yahushua/Jesus truly is our sacrificial Lamb who laid HIS life down for our sins, so we would have eternal life.

Paul continues speaking to the church of Corinth. He is telling them by keeping the feast of the Passover they must purge themselves. In verse (8) "not with old leaven; neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the un-leavened bread of sincerity and truth." We know that we are to serve God in Spirit and in truth. Amen?!? We must serve God only. We must take off the "old man" and put on the "new man."

Paul had written to the church of Corinth telling them not to company with fornicators. Do NOT let them into the church. Paul knew what this would do to the church. So, Paul warns them not only fornicators but there are others. (10) not only the fornicators but also the covetous and extortioners and idolaters. They should not enter into the church. The members of the church had enough trouble with immorality in the world that they did not need to bring them in among them. Verse (11) continues with Paul telling the church do not even eat with these people.

Paul tells them in verse (12) We need to keep the church holy and keep those who will corrupt it out. God will judge those out in the world. We would not have to judge them within the church if we would just keep them out. Verse (13) Therefore they were to put the wicked person out of the church. This is so the church would not be corrupted like the outside world.

In HIM with love,
Cassie
