Study: Matthew 24 continued

Peace,

I am led to add to the study on Matthew 24. I pray you see truth through the guidance of the Holy Spirit. In the name of Jesus.

The posting on Matthew 24 speaks of the questions asked by the disciple at the mount of olives. While reading Matthew we must keep in mind that Jesus is speaking in both a literal and Spiritual sense. Jesus was speaking to the disciples not only about a physical temple but a Spiritual one for all generations. Amen?! The Word's spoken were alive then and they are alive now.

Jesus said to the disciples in Matthew 24:2, "And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down."

Was Jesus speaking to the disciples only about a physical temple? Let's see what scripture says. John 2:19 Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up. The physical temple was destroyed so Jesus' (body) temple could be built. The same is true for us. Our hearts must be destroyed so Jesus can build His temple within us. Amen?!?

Let's go on. John 2:13-17 13 And the Jews' passover was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.14 And found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting:15 And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers' money, and overthrew the tables;16 And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father's house an house of merchandise.
17 And his disciples remembered that it was written, The zeal of thine house hath eaten me up.

Jesus was in the temple when he found His Father's house had become a house of merchandise. Jesus then said to the Jews, "19 Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up." The Jews replied,"20  Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days?21 But he spake of the temple of his body."

Jesus' death on the cross was also the death of the Jewish age. The rituals and sacrifices ended. The physical temple destroyed the Spiritual one resurrected. Amen?!!? Jesus now was the temple where God and sinners could reconcile. Thank you Jesus.

Jesus was the Passover lamb who died for the sins of the world. Jesus' sacrifice on the cross would give life eternal. Jesus was to die once for all men. Thank you Jesus.

Hebrews 9:26 26 For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.

Luke 14:3333 So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.

Thank you Jesus.
In Jesus name with love,
Cassie
