Two Resurrections. The Dead Are Sleeping.

Peace to all...

I am led to share this with you. I pray you let the scriptures speak for themselves. May the Holy Spirit guide you in all truth.

What does Jesus say about the state of the dead? John 11:11 11 These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.

Lets read on 13 Howbeit Jesus spake of his death: but they thought that he had spoken of taking of rest in sleep.14 Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead.

Jesus said Lazarus "sleepeth" and Lazarus is "dead." To Jesus everyone who has died is sleeping because they will be resurrected again. The bible says there will be two resurrections.

Let's read verses 23 and 24. 23 Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again.24 Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.

On the last day Jesus will raise the dead. Let's look at what Jesus says in John 6:39,4039 And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

Jesus speaks in John 5:28,29 28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

Jesus speaks of two resurrections. Jesus is speaking of all those in the graves. He says, "they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation."

Jesus says, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies"

Jesus is telling us that even though we die "fall asleep" we will live again "be resurrected".

Let's read in the book of Daniel 12:2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

The angel Gabriel is speaking of the end times. When the righteous dead will be raised to everlasting life.Amen.

Paul speaks of a mystery  1 Corinthians 15:50-52 50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

Paul says that not all Christians will "sleep." He means, not all Christians will "die." There will be some Christians alive when Jesus Christ returns to the earth. There will be many Christians who are dead, and they will be resurrected first, given new bodies, after which the living saints will be given their new, perfect bodies.

1 Corinthians 15:12-14 12 Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?
13 But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen:
14 And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.

Paul is preaching that the resurrection of Jesus is real. That Jesus is alive. Amen. And if Jesus is resurrected then so will the righteous that believe in HIM.

Let's continue in reading in scripture about the dead. The book of Revelation says. Revelation 20:4-6And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.
Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

Folks, the dead are sleeping. They are not alive in heaven, or hell or in a place called purgatory. Those who have claimed to see the dead in hell or in heaven are calling the word of God a lie. Jesus said, In John 6:40 I will raise him up at the last day.

Folks, why would Jesus speak of a resurrection on the last day if the dead are in heaven or hell or a place called purgatory today? Think about it.

Let's read John 3:15,16 15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Those that believe in Jesus shall not perish, but have life eternal. Those who do not believe in Jesus as John 3:18 says 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Let's look at more scripture. Ecclesiastes 9:5.6For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten. Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion for ever in any thing that is done under the sun.

Folks, the word of God speaks for itself. There is two resurrections and those who die are sleeping. They cannot communicate with you. When my sister died I truly thought I heard her speak to me. But I now realize that she is sleeping and waiting for the last day. When Jesus will call her out of her grave. Amen.

In Jesus name with love,
Cassie
