Biblical Christianity is not a religion but a personal relationship with man’s Creator and Redeemer, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Acts 4:12 “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved”. Part 1.

Everyone is not going to heaven. That statement may seem quite harsh and unloving to many people, but the truth of it will not change. Many people find it fashionable to call themselves “Christians” but have no idea what being a true Christian is. How do you respond when asked if you are a Christian? Here are some answers people give: “I was always a Christian”; “I was born in America”; “My parents are Christians”; “I’m not Jewish or Catholic or some other religion”; “I was baptized as a baby”; “I go to church”; “I’m a member of my church”; “I try to live the best I can”; “I give to charity”; and the list goes on and on. But is this what the Bible teaches that a Christian is? When the above claims are placed beside the standard or the Word of God, each of those answers falls short of genuine biblical Christianity. Being religious does not mean one is a Christian. Biblical Christianity is not a religion but a personal relationship with man’s Creator and Redeemer, the Lord Jesus Christ.

A true Christian is not merely one who claims Christianity but one who has recognized that he is a sinner and has exercised repentance (turned or changed direction from error to truth) toward God and faith in Jesus Christ alone as his only Savior from sin. Your church cannot save you. In fact, there is no salvation apart from Jesus Christ, who is the eternal God. As our text for today states, Jesus alone can save. You cannot save yourself from sin and hell by anything you do, nor can anyone else save you or forgive you of your sin: “They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches; none of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him.” Psalm 49:6-7. “Charge them not that are rich in this world, that they are not high-minded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy;" 1 Timothy 6:17.

Don’t take our word for it. Search the scriptures whether these things are true or not.
